Taking care of your scales (and some common examples of what not to do!)
Remember that your scale is actually a small computer: so -
Keep your scale as dry as possible at all times.
Clean the scale with a DAMP cloth - a LITTLE dishwashing liquid is okay.
Do not expose your scale to strong cleaning foams or chemicals.
If your scale is located on the floor we strongly recommend keeping the weighing capacity to 150kg to avoid damage from accidental overloading, a common one being when a person walking by stands on it to check their own weight!
If possible, try to cover the indicator with a clean plastic bag to protect it from water when in use.
Always remove the scale from the production area before a general clean-up, or if this is not possible, give it as much protection as you can.
AND SOME COMMON MISTAKES THAT YOU SHOULD AVOID!!!
Spraying the scale with a hose to clean it! - corrupts the electrical circuits….
Accidentally cutting your scale's power cord with the downswing of a sharp knife is really not good for your scale at all ….
A colony of cockroaches living inside your scale can be the cause of significant damage, as they expel a chemical that corrodes circuit boards.
Dropping heavy objects on your scale can cause serious problems ….
As can various other forms of impact-related damage (see photo below)....
